Fans said the same thing about Derrick Henry’s record-breaking touchdown run
Derrick Henry broke out a record-breaking touchdown run on Sunday, and it had fans all saying the same thing.
Henry took the Baltimore Ravens’ first play from scrimmage 87 yards for a touchdown to put his team up 7-0 over the Buffalo Bills at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday night. The 87-yard touchdown run from Henry was impressive for a number of reasons, but what stood out was how fast he was as he outran Buffalo’s defense. On the play, Henry achieved the longest run in Ravens history.
Take a look at the video of Henry’s run as he hit the hole and went untouched to the end zone.

The impressive run, where Henry showcased his elite speed, had fans saying the same thing: how can a man that big, and with such a career workload, also move so fast?
nothing as big as Derrick Henry should move as fast as Derrick Henry

Derrick Henry is one of the most unique players in NFL history. Dude is almost 250 pounds, 30 years old, has a workload nobody even comes close to in the modern game, and the moment he broke into the secondary you knew nobody was catching him.

Crazy that a guy Derrick Henry's size has hit 20 mph the second-most times of any ball carrier in the NFL.
Also crazy that Tyreek Hill has hit 20 mph almost 3x as many times as the ball carrier who has done it the second-most times. https://t.co/7aoE9KxalU— Michael David Smith (@MichaelDavSmith) September 30, 2024
How does Derrick Henry still have “run away from DBs” speed? 2,087 physical rushes into his career at age 30 and he’s still dusting safeties! pic.twitter.com/dH0d3szZ5h

Derrick Henry is what happens when perfect genetics meet perfect worth ethic.
He has over 2000 carries. He should be beaten down and slow.
But he’s out sprinting defensive backs 7 years younger than him.
Hall of Famer.

That is impressive. You wouldn’t expect that from someone who is 6-foot-2 and 247 pounds.
