Ford Field DJ mocks Geno Smith with song
As if Geno Smith didn’t already have enough embarrassment to endure after an ex-teammate punched him in the face and broke his jaw, now he has opposing teams mocking him.
The Detroit Lions whooped the New York Jets 23-3 in a preseason game on Thursday, and their greatest play may have come during introductions. According to the Detroit News’ Josh Katzenstein, the person controlling the music at Ford Field played a special selection when announcing that Smith was inactive for the game:
Ford Field playing "Can't Feel My Face" by The Weeknd just as the Jets announce Geno Smith being inactive. Can't make this up.

“Can’t Feel My Face” is one of the more popular songs around, with over 17 million views on YouTube. We would hope that Smith can feel his face by now, but he did undergo surgery Thursday, so you never know if the pain medications have worn off yet. That just makes the excellent song choice at Ford Field even more awesome (and yes, we fully expect them to say the choice was coincidental). However, if we were running things, this would have been our song choice.
