Frank Clark was linked to the Kansas City Chiefs after the Denver Broncos released him earlier this month, but the veteran pass-rusher is instead reuniting with his other former team.

Clark on Wednesday agreed to a 1-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks, according to multiple reports. ESPN’s Adam Schefter says Clark had discussions with multiple teams but chose to return to the place where his NFL career began.

The Seahawks selected Clark in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He joined Seattle’s vaunted “Legion of Boom” defense and quickly became a productive player, recording 9 or more sacks in three of his four seasons with the team.

Clark was franchise tagged by Seattle during the 2019 offseason and then traded to the Chiefs. He signed a 5-year, $105.5 million extension with Kansas City and became an anchor for their defense, making the Pro Bowl each season from 2019-2021. Clark won two Super Bowls with the Chiefs.

Then in March, Clark was released by the Chiefs and signed with the Broncos. He was active for just three of his five games in Denver before being cut. A reunion between Clark and the Chiefs was initially viewed as likely, but the 30-year-old has instead landed back in Seattle.
