Free agent Jay Ajayi expected to work out for NFL teams next week

Almost exactly a year since suffering a torn left ACL, Jay Ajayi is ready to reinsert himself into the NFL mix.

Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported this weekend that the free agent running back is expected to start working out for teams next week.

Ajayi, who is still only 26, rushed for 184 yards and three touchdowns in four games for the Philadelphia Eagles last season before getting hurt in October. His contract expired after the year, and he went unsigned this offseason.

The ex-Pro Bowler attracted interest from at least one notable team in recent months and obviously can still be an impact runner if his health holds up.
