The San Francisco 49ers got a step closer to winning the Super Bowl, but their latest progress came at a high cost, as star tight end George Kittle is done for the remainder of the NFL playoffs because of an injury.
Kittle suffered a torn Achilles late in the first half of San Francisco’s 23-19 win on Sunday over the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa. It will be a long road to full recovery for the seven-time Pro Bowler, but at least he’ll always have the support of his wife, Claire Kittle.
In an Instagram Story post on Monday, Mrs. Kittle shared her husband’s heartfelt message after the injury and called him “My real life super hero.”
Claire Kittle, George Kittle's wife, had this to say about the injured 49ers tight end.

Claire has always been supportive of George and the 49ers. She’s often seen watching San Francisco games live, and her support for the Niners will continue with or without her husband on the field.
Losing Kittle is definitely a huge blow for the 49ers, as he plays a significant role on the team’s Brock Purdy-led offense.
Without Kittle the rest of the way, San Francisco will have to rely even more on the likes of wide receivers Jauan Jennings, Kendrick Bourne and, of course, do-it-all running back Christian McCaffrey.
San Francisco will look to overcome Kittle’s absence and secure a ticket to the NFC Championship when it faces off against the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday at Lumen Field in Seattle, Wash.
