One East team figures to be a major player in the Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes ahead of the trade deadline.
The Milwaukee Bucks star has been the central figure in trade rumors over the past few weeks, with the Golden State Warriors considered by many to be his primary landing spot in any deal. That changed on Sunday as the Chicago Bulls overtook the Warriors to become the favorite trade destination for Giannis if he doesn’t remain with the Bucks past the Feb. 5 trade deadline.

The Bulls control all of their first-round picks going forward and have a few young pieces that could sweeten the pot in any deal for Antetokounmpo. Chicago could offer some combination of Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, and Matas Buzelis with three or four first-round picks and some veteran salaries to match.
It’s worth noting that Giannis recently beefed with Bulls veteran Nikola Vucevic, who taunted the Bucks star with claims that the Bulls didn’t want him.

While it’s debatable whether such an offer would be better than what Golden State could send back, it still gives Milwaukee another option if they prefer to deal the Greek Freak before the season.

Vegas, however, still believes that the most likely result is that Antetokounmpo remains with the Bucks through the deadline, which would allow the team to reopen trade talks in the offseason.
