Giants GM will not say whether he wants Odell Beckham to remain with team
With seemingly endless speculation swirling that the New York Giants are exploring trade possibilities for Odell Beckham Jr., one of the people who would be in charge of that decision isn’t exactly giving the star wide receiver an enthusiastic endorsement.
Giants general manager Dave Gettleman, who is in his first offseason with the team, was asked on Tuesday if he wants Beckham to remain in New York in 2018. He refused to give a straight answer.
Giants GM Dave Gettleman, asked whether he wants Odell Beckham on his team: "I'm not going there." Asked if Odell's "clean slate has been scuffed up a little bit," he says, "Next question." https://t.co/AqR7zwQl97

More #Giants GM Dave Gettleman, when asked by @KimJonesSports if Odell can still be part of the solution: “Bottomline is, as Ernie (Accorsi) taught us, you don’t quit on talent.”

Even if Beckham ends up staying with the Giants come Week 1, it seems obvious that they are at least willing to listen to offers for him. Otherwise, they could put a stop to all of this talk by simply saying Beckham is not going to be traded.
Between Gettleman going “next question” and the remarks Giants co-owner John Mara made about Beckham over the weekend, we can probably conclude that ownership is, at the very least, aggravated with the 25-year-old. Whether that means a trade is in the works is a question that should be answered before the conclusion of the NFL Draft.
