The New York Giants and “Monday Night Football” plan to honor the late Frank Gifford, who died at the age of 84 on Sunday.
The Giants will honor their franchise leader for total touchdowns with a patch on their jerseys. The patch will also honor the late mother of team owner John Mara, though the patch is unlikely to be ready in time for the season opener next month.
After starring for the Giants, the former NFL MVP went on to a successful broadcasting career, highlighted by nearly 30 years on the “Monday Night Football” broadcasting team.
