Giants reportedly trade CB Eli Apple to Saints
The New York Giants decided on Tuesday to cut ties with a man named Eli, but it is probably not the Eli you are thinking of.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Giants have traded cornerback Eli Apple to the Saints for a fourth-round pick in next year’s draft and a seventh-round pick in 2020.
Saints traded a 4th-round pick in 2019 and a 7th in 2020 for former Giants’ CB Eli Apple, per source.

Apple, the No. 10 overall pick in the 2016 draft, had a lot of issues in the Giants’ locker room over the past couple of years. It’s a surprise that they stuck with him as long as they did after some of the things that were said about Apple by his teammates, but perhaps the team thought the situation would improve.
While it’s unclear if it played a role in the tension between him and his teammates, Apple went through a lot of personal issues off the field in 2017 with his mother undergoing brain surgery. There is no denying the former Ohio State star’s level of talent.
