Tom Brady’s decision to suddenly join Twitter on Monday drew reactions from all over the sports and entertainment communities, and one of the best came from New York Giants wide receiver Golden Tate.
Shortly after Brady announced his Twitter presence with an April Fool’s joke claiming he is retiring, Tate responded by telling him he is “sorry things didn’t work out” and expressing sympathy over Rob Gronkowski calling it a career.
Dear Mr. Brady,
Sorry things didn't work out. Can I still get a follow though?????????
ps. Sorry to hear about @RobGronkowskipss. Welcome to @Twitter
Love,
Golden https://t.co/zbilbVsJIp

It’s unclear what Tate is referring to that didn’t work out, but it’s likely a reference to the Patriots having been one of the teams that pursued him this offseason. Before he signed with the Giants, Tate had nothing but good things to say about the Patriots and made it seem as though he is close with Brady and some other players in New England. Brady currently has practically no options to throw to aside from Julian Edelman, so Tate must feel badly for him.
Don’t worry, Golden. The Patriots and your buddy TB12 will probably find a way. They almost always do.
