Greg Hardy charged with cocaine possession, faces jail time
Former NFL defensive lineman Greg Hardy has reportedly been charged with felony drug possession and could end up spending time in jail.
According to a report from TMZ, Hardy has was indicted on Monday on one count of felony possession of a controlled substance after he was busted with cocaine back in September. Officials say Hardy was carrying 0.7 grams of the drug. If convicted, the 28-year-old could face up to two years in jail.
Police found that Hardy was in possession of cocaine during a routine traffic stop on Sept. 25. He gave one of the worst excuses you will ever hear after the drug was found in his wallet.
Hardy spent the 2015 season with the Dallas Cowboys and became virtually unemployable after disturbing details from his domestic violence case surfaced. Now that he has also been indicted on drug charges, the chances of him being signed by an NFL team are even slimmer.
Last month, Hardy announced that he is pursuing a career in mixed martial arts. He clearly has some legal issues to take care of before he can fully commit himself to that sport.
