Greg Hardy helps pay for Cowboys banner to be flown over Eagles camp

Greg-Hardy

Greg Hardy is hoping to become a fan favorite in Dallas despite his checkered past, and one way to win over Cowboys fans is to jump right into an NFC East rivalry.

By helping pay for a banner to be flown over Philadelphia Eagles training camp, Hardy has done just that.

As Joshua Friemel of The Dallas Morning News pointed out, Hardy donated $300 to a GoFundMe page that was set up by Cowboys fans. The goal is to raise $1,350 in an attempt to retaliate against some Eagles fans who plan to have a plane fly a “WE GOT DEMARCO” banner over the Cowboys’ blue-white scrimmage on Aug. 9.

Hardy’s $300 donation helped the fans shatter their goal. The GoFundMe page had raised nearly $2,500 at the time this post was written. Any additional money raised is being donated to a Dallas-area charity.

The initial plan was to fire back at the Philly fans with a “WE GOT THE DIVISION” banner, but Hardy suggested that the banner read “WE STILL DEM BOYZ.” Because of his sizable donation, the group decided to roll with Hardy’s idea.

NFL fans taunting their rivals with banners over training camp is so hot right now. We saw it earlier this week when a bunch of New York Jets fans set this up for the New England Patriots. That was a great PR move from Hardy to get involved.
