Greg Jennings campaigning for return to Vikings
Greg Jennings spent two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, and he enjoyed it so much that he’s openly pushing for a return to the team.
Jennings spoke to KFAN 100.3 on Wednesday and he made clear his desire to return to Minnesota.
“I left [general manager Rick Spielman] a voicemail,” Jennings told KFAN, via A.J. Mansour of KFAN.com. “I told [them], I’m waiting on you guys.
“I miss being [in Minnesota]. You appreciate something more when it’s taken away from you.”
Jennings also believes that he can provide veteran leadership to help Teddy Bridgewater and the rest of the team.
“I know what Teddy missed,” Jennings said. “Sometimes you take for granted the veteran guys in the locker room…when I look at the Vikings I see a young team. A team of guys with great leadership on the defensive side of the ball specifically. In a wide receiver room, where’s the veteran? Where’s the leadership? Where’s the accountability?”
Jennings is coming off a season in Miami in which he caught just 19 passes and had some unflattering things to say about their coaching staff. He’s clearly extremely interested in a return to Minnesota. Whether that interest is mutual remains to be seen.
