Greg Olsen says media twisted his words about Broncos defense
Greg Olsen sent out some tweets on Thursday to clarify things and express his anger with a media outlet for making it seem like he doesn’t respect the Denver Broncos’ defense.
The Carolina Panthers tight end was quoted by Black and Blue Review this week as saying the Broncos’ defense did not suffocate the Panthers in the Super Bowl.
“I watched it, and you feel worse after you watch it because this notion that they suffocated us and we couldn’t do anything,” Olsen said. “Go back and watch the tape, see the plays that were there to be made. See the guys we had that came up just a little short on a couple plays, but go back and watch it.
“This notion that we couldn’t do anything offensively is not the case, and I think that’s even more the tough part to swallow. They made a couple big splash plays that really turned out to be the difference in the game.”
Those quotes were then turned into a headline: “Broncos defense was really not that good,” which is not what he said.

Here was Olsen’s response:
"Olsen says Broncos defense not that good"? Catchy headline but untrue. They made plays that we didn't make. Had chances. They won. Period

But never let the truth get in the way of a good headline. Both defenses were incredible. Don't deny they have a good D

I was going to copy the link with the article but they don't deserve the extra eye balls.

Olsen certainly downplayed the role the Broncos’ defense had in the victory and wanted to make it clear that the Panthers had chances on offense they simply did not capitalize on. However, posting a headline saying he does not think Denver’s defense was that good is a radical twist. It’s understandable why he was upset.
