Hue Jackson seems to admit Josh Gordon started by mistake
Cleveland Browns coach Hue Jackson has been telling anyone who’d listen that wide receiver Josh Gordon would not start on Sunday.
So imagine everyone’s surprise when the Browns lined up for their first offensive play and Gordon was on the field, seemingly in direct conflict with Jackson’s proclamations. Some theorized that Jackson had either had a late change of heart or had been stringing the media along the entire time.
According to Jackson, neither of those interpretations are true. Apparently Gordon started the game by accident.
Hue Jackson after making a big point about how Josh Gordon wasn’t going to start said a personnel grouping led to Gordon starting and he didn’t want that and was disappointed it happened. So Gordon started by mistake it seems

You can’t make this stuff up, folks.
Of course, the Browns didn’t lose — they tied — so all’s well that ends well, and Gordon ended with three catches and a touchdown. Maybe Jackson will subject himself to his own strange brand of self-discipline after the error.
