IK Enemkpali carted off with ‘major’ knee injury in Bills’ preseason opener

Buffalo Bills linebacker IK Enemkpali was carted off the field in the second quarter of Saturday’s preseason opener against the Indianapolis Colts after suffering a knee injury.

Bills head coach Rex Ryan said that the injury to Enemkpali appears to be “major,” per Mike Rodak of ESPN.

Enemkpali, 25, recorded 13 combined tackles in 11 games for the Bills last season. He was recently in the news for an unfortunate incident of déjà vu.

Buffalo’s linebacker depth is now in dire straits, especially coupled with the losses of Reggie Ragland to a season-ending partial ACL tear and Shaq Lawson to a shoulder injury threatening to keep him out for several more months. The recent signing of Brandon Spikes should help some, but it still looks like Ryan has his work cut out for him to cobble together a serviceable linebacker rotation for next season.
