The Detroit Lions took over first place in the NFC North with another outstanding offensive performance on Sunday, and they made history in the process.

Jared Goff went 22/25 for 280 yards and 2 touchdowns while leading the Lions to a 31-29 win over the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn. Goff has now thrown just 15 incomplete passes in the past four games. The Lions have scored 18 touchdowns during that span.

According to CBS, the Lions are now the only team since the 1970 NFL-AFL merger to have more touchdowns than incomplete passes during a four-game stretch.

The Lions also had an incomplete pass on a trick play, so Goff has 15 incompletions and Detroit has 16 as a team.

No matter how you look at it, that stat is mind-blowing. Goff has completed 85% of his passes over the past four games for 1,086 yards, 9 touchdowns and no interceptions. His passer rating over that stretch is 140.8. It is hardly a coincidence that the Lions have won four straight games and look like they could be the best team in the NFC.

Defense will be the big concern for Detroit going forward, as they have lost one of their best players for most — if not all — of the season. But for now, their offense has simply looked unstoppable.
