Falcons TE Jacob Tamme condemns Donald Trump’s ‘locker room talk’ excuse
Atlanta Falcons tight end Jacob Tamme has received attention for his tweets condemning Donald Trump’s excuse for his comments seemingly condoning sexual assault against women.
On Friday, audio was released that shows Trump boasting about how he can get away with inappropriately touching women. The controversial comments were a big topic during Sunday night’s presidential debates and led the Republican party candidate to apologize. In his apology, Trump characterized his remarks as “locker room talk” in an attempt to rationalize them. Tamme wasn’t having any of it.
The 9-year NFL veteran, who actually spends a great deal of his professional time in a locker room, made it clear that Trump’s remarks were inappropriate and not typical of a locker room.
Please stop saying "locker room talk"

It's not normal. And even if it were normal, it's not right. https://t.co/RQUWJJBSTn

The attempt to normalize it as any type of "talk" is wrong. I refuse to let my son think that this is "just how men speak" https://t.co/cdzLGAX2zs

After his “locker room talk” tweets got attention, Tamme sent this:
Since my locker tweet got a lot of run, let me be clear: I am not a supporter of either candidate. Decency is a non partisan thing for me.

When all is said and done, it just comes down to decency.
