Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts might be expressing some subtle feelings toward his coaches with a comment he made following the team’s 19-17 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday in London.
The Eagles were sharply criticized for their clock management late in the game, as they left the Jaguars enough time on the clock for two final plays and then gave them a chance to return a kickoff after the Eagles went ahead on a field goal. Fans were angry in particular at the Eagles’ failure to take more time off the clock before Jake Elliott’s go-ahead field goal, as the team attempted two passes instead of running the ball and letting the clock burn down to zero.
Hurts was asked about the latter issue after the game, and his answer may not have done Nick Sirianni and the coaching staff any favors.
“Ultimately, that’s not my place,” Hurts said.

Numerous fans are already calling for Sirianni’s head for how poorly he managed the last minute of the game. Had he done the job properly, the Jaguars would not have even received the chance to touch the ball again. Hurts presumably knows that, but does not want to openly toss Sirianni under the bus.
The Eagles did leave some points on the board earlier in the game. However, Hurts put together a respectable 220 yards of passing despite not having Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith at his disposal.
