Jalen Ramsey misses practice again with back injury

Jalen Ramsey

Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey did not play in Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos after missing practice last week for a variety of reasons, and it looks like he will be questionable once again in Week 5.

Ramsey was listed on the injury report Wednesday with a back injury and did not practice. Rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew has also been added to the injury report, though he is not believed to be in danger of missing much time.

The Ramsey situation is a complicated one, as it is unclear how hurt the All-Pro cornerback actually is. While the Jaguars have acknowledged that he informed them of the back injury during the team’s Week 3 win over the Tennessee Titans, head coach Doug Marrone initially claimed to know nothing about it. Marrone, of course, got into a heated confrontation with Ramsey on the sideline during Week 2, and Ramsey has not backed down from his demand to be traded.

Ramsey was away from the Jaguars last week because of the back injury, an illness and the birth of his daughter. The team reportedly does not want to trade him and has already turned down at least one respectable offer, but Ramsey may eventually give them no choice.
