Jamal Adams wins $40,000 bet with father over draft pick
Jamal Adams was already set to become a millionaire overnight thanks to his status as a likely first-round draft pick. But now he can add an extra $40,000 on top of that.
Adams was picked No. 6 overall by the New York Jets in the draft. Thanks to his high selection — which was actually lower than some projected — the former LSU star officially became a higher draft pick than his father.
Adams’ dad, George, was the No. 19 overall pick by the Giants in the 1985 draft. The two had a bet going over who would be the higher draft pick, and Jamal clearly won.
The extra $40k will seem like chump change given the contract Jamal has coming to him, but it probably is a sweet cherry on top of a great night for him.
