Jameis Winston spoke with the media Friday at the NFL combine and addressed the issue about his weight.
Winston exuded confidence and even cracked a joke about how good he looked.
“You thought I was fat! But I’m proving everybody wrong. I look good and I know it!” he joked.
Later in an interview with ESPN’s Josina Anderson, Winston admitted that he likes to eat and that he wasn’t eating healthy after the college football season.
“Well I played at 235, I just gained some extra weight after the season because I like to eat,” Winston told Anderson. “I wasn’t eating healthy. When I started eating healthy, I started getting into my ideal weight, which is 230-235.”
Winston was up to 248 when he first started training for the combine and dropped to 231, meaning he lost 17 pounds prepping for the event and that there was something to the photo of him looking overweight.
