New York Giants quarterback Jameis Winston stunned Jason and Travis Kelce on their New Heights podcast by revealing he and his then-fiancée, now wife Breion Allen, abstained from sex throughout the entire 2019 NFL season.

The decision came during a pivotal contract year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which Winston described as one of his most turbulent off the field. Influenced by his parents’ disapproval of “shacking” — living together before marriage — he went to extremes to uphold the vow.

“We had to eliminate that,” Winston explained. “I literally bought a property and stayed away from my house.”

The celibacy, he said, was part of broader off-field accountability to improve focus and performance.

“Unfortunately, the ball ended up in the defense’s hands too much,” Winston joked.

That season, Winston led the NFL with 5,109 passing yards and 33 touchdowns, though he also threw a league-high 30 interceptions.

The Kelces reacted with laughter and disbelief. Travis joked, “You were wound up in the pocket,” while Jason quipped about needing a blacklight in the house.

Winston and Allen, high school sweethearts, married in 2020 and have two sons.
