Jameis Winston suffered sprained ankle in Bucs’ loss
Jameis Winston suffered a sprained ankle in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 34-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, and the injury has Bruce Arians concerned about the quarterback’s status.
Winston injured his ankle late in the game but did not exit the contest. That’s a decision Arians appears to regret in hindsight.
#GoBucs coach Bruce Arians said Jameis Winston has a left ankle sprain on the medial side. They were going to put Ryan Griffin in the game but Winston said he could protect himself. In retrospect Arians says he should’ve gone to Griffin at that point.

Arians said after the game that he had some concerns about Winston’s status and that they would know more on Monday.
Winston said he would be fine for the following week.

Winston passed for 313 yards and two touchdowns in the loss, but turnovers were his downfall as has often been the case. He was intercepted four times, giving him 18 on the season. The 3-7 Bucs visit the Falcons next week.
