Jameis Winston shouted out Jaxson Dart this week in a way that only he could.
The New York Giants quarterback Winston earned his first victory as the team’s starter on Sunday with a 12-7 win over the Tennessee Titans. Winston went 14/22 with zero touchdowns but perhaps more importantly zero turnovers as the Giants prevailed at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
After the game, Winston had a wild tribute to his injured teammate Dart. Speaking with reporters during his postgame press conference, Winston said that the 12 points scored by the Giants were in honor of Dart (who wears the No. 6 jersey).
“Obviously, we are our brother’s keeper, winning this game for Jaxson,” said Winston. “12 points. Six times two. It’s for you. That’s 12, right?”

That is certainly quite the spin from the former Pro Bowler Winston. For one, the Giants did not even score a single touchdown on the day, and 12 points is not exactly an impressive total for an NFL team to be putting up.
But in any case, New York is now 2-1 despite Dart being lost for the season due to a knee injury that he suffered in Week 2. While the Giants could still add an experienced quarterback at some point, Winston at least has it for now when it comes to quotes and apparently victories as well.
