Jameis Winston looking forward to facing Buccaneers
Jameis Winston is looking forward to possibly getting some revenge against his former team.
Winston officially agreed to a contract with the New Orleans Saints this week after spending his previous five seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Winston already believes that he’ll be at an advantage being able to learn in New Orleans. Beyond that, he has some other motivation for signing with the Saints.
Winston joined NFL Network’s Colleen Wolfe on NFL Total Access Friday and said he wanted to face the Bucs.
“I can’t wait to compete against them,” Winston said. “It’s going to be fun. I know Tom (Brady) is going to bring his relentlessness and his attitude there, but it’s going to be fun and we’re ready to compete. We’ve always been competing. When I was at Tampa, we got them sometimes and they got us sometimes. Last year they swept us, so I know they’re going to try and come and get us this year, but I’m in that black and gold now, so I’m gonna be like, ‘Who Dat? Who Dat say they gone beat them Saints?'”
Brady is the quarterback who replaced Winston in Tampa Bay, and there is no doubt the former Patriots QB will be relentless with his new team. As for Winston, he probably won’t be playing when the teams meet considering he is backing up Drew Brees and competing with Taysom Hill. But you never know how much action he may see.
