The Pittsburgh Steelers don’t have the most ideal quarterback room at the moment, but a franchise legend is trying to change that.

During a recent episode of the “Deebo & Joe” podcast, former Steelers star linebacker James Harrison admitted he’s trying to lure the starting quarterback of a Pittsburgh rival in the AFC North, specifically Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals.

“I’ve been conversing with him on here on a weekly, bi-weekly basis,” Harrison shared. “We’ve been having conversations. I talked to him on the phone yesterday.”

The former NFL Defensive Player of the Year Harrison also said that Burrow will speak with Cincinnati owner Mike Brown to see what can be done to facilitate the quarterback’s trade to the Steelers.

“We’ve been talking about him… he’s going to go up there, talk to Mr. [Mike] Brown to see what he needs to do to get into black and gold.”

JUST IN: #Steelers legend James Harrison revealed that he has been speaking to #Bengals QB Joe Burrow and recruiting him to Pittsburgh.

Harrison has been telling Burrow for him to win his Super Bowl, he needs to be in black & gold.

Steelers fans who are willing to believe Harris have at least something exciting to hold on to amid Pittsburgh’s mediocrity at QB. The Steelers currently only have Mason Rudolph and Will Howard in their QB room, with Aaron Rodgers possibly returning as well.

At the same time, trading for Burrow is going to be easier said than done, given his stature as one of the best quarterbacks in the league (when healthy, of course). Plus, he is under contract through the 2029 NFL season after signing a 5-year, $275 million contract extension with Cincinnati in 2023.

Crazier trades have happened in the NFL, so who knows if Harrison’s goal to bring Burrow to Pittsburgh would come to fruition.
