
The Los Angeles Rams were desperate for cap room and have managed to find some thanks to their quarterback.
The Rams restructured quarterback Jared Goff’s contract and saved themselves $7 million, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Signed just prior to the 2019 season, the Goff contract quickly looked questionable after a middling season. After giving him a record amount of guaranteed money, Goff threw 22 touchdowns and a career-worst 16 interceptions in 2019.
As it stood, the Rams were actually over the salary cap and still needed to work Leonard Floyd’s contract into the equation. This move was a necessity for them if they wanted any chance of completing deals and signing their draft picks.
