Jarvis Landry’s fate is officially in the hands of the Miami Dolphins.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Landry signed his franchise tender on Thursday morning, which means he is under contract with the Dolphins for $16 million in 2018.

There had been talk that Landry could refuse to sign the tender in an attempt to force the Dolphins to rescind it before the start of free agency. The star wide receiver has reportedly been upset with the way the team is handling his situation and still wants to be traded.
Like almost all players, Landry would prefer to go to a team that is willing to sign him to a long-term deal. The Dolphins will likely continue to explore trades, but they could have a hard time finding a team that is willing to give up any significant draft capital when they could either wait for Landry to become a free agent next offseason or sign another top receiver like Sammy Watkins.
