Jay Ajayi takes shot at Adam Gase after Eagles win Super Bowl

The trade that sent Jay Ajayi to the Eagles back in October worked out quite well for the star running back, and he has no interest in taking the high road after his tenure with the Dolphins ended on a sour note.

The morning after his team pulled off an upset and beat the Patriots in Super Bowl LII, Ajayi took a very forward shot at Miami head coach Adam Gase in an Instagram post.

THEY may have tried to discredit you, discount you, throw dirt on your name…none of it matters now. LEGACIES LAST FOREVER. funny how they were GASsEd over journalistic…look at me now. ONLY GOD. YURP^

“THEY may have tried to discredit you, discount you, throw dirt on your name…none of it matters now. LEGACIES LAST FOREVER. Funny how they were GASsEd over journalistic…look at me now. ONLY GOD,” Ajayi wrote.

That says a lot about the level of respect — or lack thereof — between Ajayi and his former coach and team. Judging by some of the things that were written after Ajayi was traded, it seems as though the feelings are mutual.

After Ajayi was dealt, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reported that the former fifth-round pick was unhappy with his role and becoming a problem in the locker room. Salguero noted that some remarks Gase made about players buying in were almost certainly directed toward Ajayi.

“At the end of the day, guys have got to actually take this stuff home and study it,” Gase at the time. “They’re not going to just learn it all in meetings. We’ve got to find guys that will actually put forth effort to actually remember this stuff and really, it starts with our best players.”

Some of Ajayi’s former teammates were clearly not happy to see him go, but that doesn’t mean the things that were said about the running back were untrue. In any case, the trade couldn’t have worked out better for him.
