Jay Cutler’s wife Kristin Cavallari thinks QB returning too soon from thumb injury

Are the Chicago Bears rushing Jay Cutler back from a thumb injury now that Brian Hoyer is out with a broken forearm? The quarterback’s wife seems to think so.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Cutler’s wife Kristin Cavallari wished him luck but hinted that he should not be returning to the field for at least two more weeks.

He's baaaaack! Maybe a couple weeks before he's supposed to be but good luck this week, babe. Kick some Vikings-ass!

“He’s baaaaack! Maybe a couple weeks before he’s supposed to be but good luck this week, babe. Kick some Vikings-ass!” Cavallari wrote.

Cutler has been dealing with damaged ligaments in his throwing hand. With Bears head coach John Fox fueling speculation that Hoyer might keep the starting job even after Cutler returned, the team was going to have Cutler take his time recovering from the injury, at the very least.

Instead, Cutler is returning this weekend. It’s unclear if his thumb is totally healed, but he summed up Chicago’s quarterback situation perfectly with these blunt comments earlier in the week. Ready or not, it’s up to Cutler to try and prevent the Bears’ season from getting even uglier.
