The Baltimore Ravens have added some veteran wide receivers early in free agency, and those additions have apparently made Jeremy Maclin expendable.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Ravens have decided to release Maclin.

Maclin signed a two-year deal with the Ravens last offseason, and he was not a major part of the team’s offense in 2017. He appeared in 12 games and caught just 40 passes for 440 yards and three touchdowns, so it is not surprising that Baltimore is moving on from him. They will also save $5 million in salary cap space with the move.
The Ravens have added wide receivers John Brown and Ryan Grant this offseason as they look to retool their offense.
