Jets fans fly ‘Fire Adam Gase’ plane over New York City
The Adam Gase era has been chaotic and messy for the New York Jets, and some of their fans are fed up with it.
Just after 2 p.m. on Friday, New Yorkers spotted an airplane flying over the city’s West Side carrying a “Fire Adam Gase now!” banner.
#Jets fans have finally had it, and I can’t blame them

According to Mollie Walker of the New York Post, the banner is the product of the NYSF Blog, a group of New York sports fans. They solicited donations from fans to fly the banner over New York, and as of Friday afternoon, they had raised $3,000 on their GoFundMe page. Their goal is to send “loud public messages” to the team’s ownership to make clear that they are “fed up” with the state of the organization.
Stuff like this probably won’t work, but it’s not bad publicity for the goal. The fact is, it’s Gase’s first year and the Jets have given him significant personnel power. That may save him despite his 1-7 record, though plenty of people are going to agree with the sentiment displayed by that banner.
