John Harbaugh provides a major update about Lamar Jackson

The Baltimore Ravens are trying to turn their season around following a shockingly bad start, and they are expecting to receive a big boost coming out of their Week 7 bye.

Lamar Jackson has missed Baltimore’s last two games because of a hamstring injury. While defense has been an issue for the Ravens all season, their offense was the biggest issue in Sunday’s 17-3 Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md. Cooper Rush started at quarterback and went 11/19 for 72 yards and an interception. Rush was benched midway through the game for Tyler Huntley, who did not look much better.

Following the game, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said he expects Jackson to return in Week 8 when Baltimore hosts the Chicago Bears.

“We’re gonna have healthy players coming back. I mean, our quarterback’s gonna be back. That’s probably the big one,” Harbaugh told reporters.

Jackson suffered the hamstring injury late in the Ravens’ 37-20 Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Baltimore was losing 30-13 late in the third quarter at the time Jackson exited, which led to some fans accusing the quarterback of quitting on the team. It has since been proven that the injury is legitimate.

The Ravens fell to 1-5 with the loss to the Rams. They made a significant change to their defense this week and played a lot better on that side of the ball, but their playoff hopes are quickly slipping away.
