Johnny Manziel’s agent Erik Burkhardt has announced that he has decided to formally part ways with the Cleveland Browns quarterback.
In a statement he issued on Friday, Burkhardt cited failed attempts from himself and others to get Manziel to seek help. He said a lack of “accountability” from Manziel has made it so Burkhardt cannot do his job.

Burkhardt’s decision provides a further glimpse into the depth of Manziel’s off-field issues. Shortly after disturbing details of the police report from the latest incident between Manziel and his ex-girlfriend surfaced, Manziel’s father Paul said he has been trying to get his son help. It sounds like the same is true for Manziel’s agent.
Burkhardt and Manziel seemed like they had a close relationship, as the agent once ripped an ESPN analyst with a funny message on behalf of Manziel.
