Johnny Manziel drinks Four Loko in latest partying video
If Johnny Manziel just quietly partied with his friends and kept it to himself, we probably wouldn’t be debating whether the Cleveland Browns should cut or trade him this offseason. But since the 23-year-old can’t have a good time without sharing it on social media, here we are.
Yet another video of Manziel partying has surfaced, albeit a fairly innocent one in which he is rapping and drinking a Four Loko. That said, the last time Manziel proudly posed for the camera while partying he ended up getting benched. So why can’t he stop?
Manziel is so clueless it hurts. He knows everything he does is scrutinized, especially when it involves alcohol. Yet he continues to make this useless nonsense available for public consumption, this time on a lesser-known social media app called Yeti.
And once again, Browns coach Mike Pettine was forced to answer questions about his quarterback’s decision making off the field.
“Anytime there’s something with our players that casts them potentially in a bad light, whether it’s Johnny or any of our other guys, it’s certainly a concern,” Pettine said Monday, per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. “I’m sure I’ll see it, I’ll have a discussion with him about it.”
Pettine had previously said that the team would come down on Manziel hard if he screwed up again.
“These circumstances are different from the incident that occurred before,” Pettine said of the latest video. “But I’m just not going to go into a ton of detail with it until I get a little bit more information about it, but it’s something that I’m sure privately we’ll discuss if it needs to be discussed.”
Does this qualify as screwing up again? The stupidity and ignorance of it is probably enough to make every member of the Browns organization want to rip their own hair out. Either it was a PR stunt when Manziel went to rehab over the summer, or he has a serious drinking problem. And if it was a PR stunt, he has allowed incidents like this one with his girlfriend and videos of him partying to prove that he is incapable taking his career seriously.
