Did Johnny Manziel say ‘I would have hit him’ after Brian Hoyer overthrow? (Video)

Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer brought us one step closer to the Johnny Manziel era on Sunday with another lousy game. Did cameras catch Manziel saying he could have done better?

Hoyer, who threw no touchdowns and two interceptions in a 25-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, overthrew a wide open Josh Gordon late in the third quarter. As you can see, Gordon had his defender beat by about three yards and would have likely scored an 86-yard touchdown. This was Johnny Football’s reaction:

We’re not lip readers, but we agree with Bro Bible that it looked an awful lot like Manziel said, “I would have f—ing hit him.”

Hoyer has not thrown a touchdown pass in three weeks and the Browns have lost three of their last four games. Mike Pettine has stuck with the veteran while Cleveland remains in the playoff hunt, but Hoyer’s ineffectiveness is costing the team. It’s time to go to Manziel.

We don’t know if Manziel would have hit Gordon on that pass, but we do know that he is capable of making plays like this. That’s more than Hoyer can say for himself.
