Johnny Manziel headed off to Cabo San Lucas on Tuesday, and it appears someone plans on doing drugs at the house where he is staying. However, the NFL free agent claims he will be completely sober for most — if not all — of the trip.
As TMZ reports, a woman who is staying at the house Manziel rented shared a photo on Snapchat that showed a bunch of little baggies of what appears to be cocaine or some other drug.
When reached for comment, Manziel told TMZ that the drugs in the photo have nothing to do with him.
“They’re absolutely not mine,” he said. “I don’t even know that girl.”
Manziel took it a step further, insisting that he is going to be totally sober starting July 1 so he can focus on eating right and training to return to the NFL.
We’ll believe that when we see it.
We’ve already heard plenty of rumblings from Manziel’s legal representation and friends claiming the former Cleveland Browns quarterback wants to play football next season. But when you take into account the comments Manziel’s own father made about him recently, it’s clear the 24-year-old is nowhere close to being NFL-ready. Getting sober would be a great start, but it’s still highly unlikely that any team would sign Manziel this offseason.
