Jon Gruden says he has ‘no intentions of coaching’
If Jon Gruden wants the Los Angeles Rams job, he’s doing a fine job of hiding it.
Gruden told ESPN’s Mike & Mike that he has “no intention” of getting back into coaching right now and is fully focused on his role as analyst on Monday Night Football.
“I’m very happy doing what I’m doing,” Gruden told the show on Wednesday. “My full attention and focus is on Cowboys-Lions. I cannot wait for our final Monday night game. There’s a lot of chips on the table. Right now, I have no intentions of coaching. I really enjoy what I’m doing and feel like I’m really close to the fire. I’m getting plenty of satisfaction out of doing what I’m doing.”
The 53-year-old Gruden hasn’t coached since 2008. He has a career record of 95-81 and a Super Bowl to his name, and he’s been heavily linked to the vacant Los Angeles Rams job since it opened up.
