Josh Allen has early contender for best pass of the year
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen went into his bag Sunday for a ridiculous pass to keep his team alive in Week 4.
The Bills trailed the Baltimore Ravens 21-3 heading into the 3rd quarter at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md.
The Bills had 3rd-and-5 at their own 45 on their opening drive of the half. Allen got chased out of the pocket and was forced to run all the way to the sideline. Three different Ravens defenders converged on him as he seemed to hurl the football in desperation.
But instead of simply getting rid of the ball to avoid negative yardage, Allen somehow found Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir for a 52-yard gain.

Allen’s throw was extremely difficult for more reasons than one. The Bills QB had to maintain composure as several Ravens defenders entered his orbit. He also needed to make the throw as his momentum carried him out of bounds.
Shakir may have been open, but only a handful of players have the arm strength Allen has to even consider making that throw.

The Bills scored a rushing touchdown to cut the lead to 21-10 one play later. Allen’s play gave Buffalo a pulse in what had been a one-sided affair to that point.
Buffalo trailed by three scores early, which several Bills fans blamed on Sean McDermott’s questionable decision-making in the first half.
