Josh McCown played on torn hamstring against Seahawks
Josh McCown was thrust into action last weekend against the Seattle Seahawks after Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz left the game with a concussion, and the veteran backup suffered a significant injury of his own before the day was over. Given the severity of it, it’s remarkable he remained on the field.
McCown played in the second half with a torn hamstring, ESPN’s Tim McManus reports. The 40-year-old will undergo surgery next week.

That had to have been incredibly painful, and McCown actually played quite well given the circumstances. He completed 18-of-24 passes for 174 yards after taking over for Wentz, though he was not able to find the end zone.
McCown was incredibly emotional after the Eagles lost to Seattle, and it’s possible that could have been his last NFL game. Given his age and the severity of the injury, it will be tough for him to rehab and then find a spot with a team.
