Junior Galette gets Redskins tattoo, could become free agent

Junior Galette was unable to play a single snap with the Washington Redskins this season after suffering a torn Achilles in August. But the 27-year-old linebacker is hoping to stick around in 2016 and beyond, and he has the tattoo to prove it.

Galette, who could become a free agent in March if Washington doesn’t re-sign him before then, already has a tattoo of the Redskins logo.

Galette signed a one-year deal with Washington this past offseason after he was released by the New Orleans Saints. On Monday, he told Mike Jones of The Washington Post that he considers the nation’s capital to be his home.

“I’m going to be here,” Galette said. “I’m not going anywhere. I’m here. I’m addicted to the facility, the coaches. Obviously, I’ll have a little break. But I’m going to be here at this facility. This is my home, and I’m claiming it.”

As Dan Steinberg of the Post notes, Galette also has a Saints tattoo.

Galette had 22 sacks combined in 2013 and 2014 before his time in New Orleans came to an abrupt end because of off-field issues. He was arrested following a domestic violence incident at his home roughly a year ago, and he later said some nasty stuff about Saints coach Sean Payton.
