Report: Junior Galette shoved woman after she asked for cab money

Junior-Galette

New Orleans Saints linebacker Junior Galette was arrested Monday morning following an alleged domestic incident at his home. The 26-year-old was later charged with domestic abuse battery, according to a police report obtained by The Times-Picayune.

Terrance Banks, a New Jersey man who was with Galette at the time of the incident, was also arrested and charged with simple battery. Banks played with Galette at Temple and told police he is Galette’s cousin.

Kenner Police say a 22-year-old woman — who Galette described as a “dancer” — was bleeding from her right ear and had scratches on her face when they arrived at the scene at 8:52 a.m. on Monday. The alleged victim claimed she had been thrown out of the house after she asked Galette if she could have some money for a taxi.

The victim admitted to picking up a knife because she said she was afraid of being “jumped” again by the two men.

“They was both on me and I couldn’t breathe,” the woman told police. “I couldn’t fight both of them.”

The woman did not call herself Galette’s girlfriend but said she cooks and cleans for him in the house he purchased last year. Given how quickly the San Francisco 49ers acted recently when Ray McDonald found himself at the center of a similar investigation, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the Saints cut Galette.
