Shedeur Sanders and rookie wide receiver KC Concepcion had crossed paths before, and not many people probably know about it.
Concepcion spent his freshman and sophomore years with the NC State Wolfpack before taking his talents to College Station, Texas, to play his junior season with the Texas A&M Aggies in 2025. But before landing with the Aggies, Concepcion said that he visited the Colorado Buffaloes, allowing him to meet Sanders
“Whenever I entered the transfer portal after my sophomore season, I had actually went down to Colorado and met Shedeur,” Concepcion told reporters, via Camryn Justice of News 5 Cleveland. “He’s a great guy, a great leader. I just cannot wait to build that relationship, build that connection with him.”
Concepcion and Sanders will look to revive that connection, this time as teammates with the Browns.
Cleveland can surely use someone like Concepcion to shore up its passing attack, which struggled to move the chains in 2025. Last season, the Browns averaged just 165.2 passing yards per game, second-worst in the league. They also scored just 16.4 points per contest.
Shedeur Sanders isn’t a lock to be Cleveland’s starting quarterback in 2026, with Deshaun Watson still in the mix, but his relationship with KC Concepcion could help the former Colorado signal-caller shine in training camp and boost his chances of winning the QB1 role.
