Kirk Cousins and the Las Vegas Raiders are off to a great start to their 2026 season that not many people saw coming. That can also be said about one of the team’s top performers in Sunday’s 26-14 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
A former undrafted free agent, White surprised many in the Chargers game, scoring not one but two touchdowns to help Las Vegas stay undefeated through two weeks of action.
Cousins, however, appears to have been a believer in White long before they connected twice for touchdowns against the Chargers.
“Cody showed me a lot today,” Cousins said after the game, via Beth Harris of the Associated Press.
“I guess those were my bank reps, just watching him play for Michigan State and then when he arrived try to translate that to here and now,” added Cousins, who finished with 253 passing yards and three touchdowns against an interception on 19/29 completions.
White and Cousins have a Spartans connection, as both are products of the Michigan State football program, and they had a little Sparty going in the third quarter when White caught a 13-yard touchdown and in the fourth when he reeled in an 11-yard scoring catch.
The 27-year-old White had just been signed by the Raiders in early September to their practice squad before getting elevated to the active roster to add depth in the wide receiver room amid injuries to Dont’e Thornton, Justin Shorter and Corey Rucker.
