Lamar Jackson calls out Adam Schefter for strange reason

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is not happy with ESPN reporter Adam Schefter for what seems to be a fairly strange reason.

Schefter shared a story on Twitter Saturday which quoted Jackson as saying that racial bias toward black quarterbacks still exists in the NFL. Jackson made the comments in an appearance on LeBron James’ show “The Shop” in an episode posted Friday.

Jackson took issue with what Schefter posted, retweeting the post and saying his remarks were “not my response to that specific question.”

Jackson’s objection is very strange. Watching the video, it’s fairly clear that Jackson is responding directly to something James says regarding racial bias against black quarterbacks. James remarks that bias is “dying off, but it’s still there.”

“It’s still there,” Jackson says while nodding. “That’s why I need that championship.”

Jackson certainly seems to be agreeing with James’ assertion. If the segment was deceptively edited, that’s on the show, not Schefter, who didn’t even write the associated story.

Schefter is no stranger to being called out for some of his reports, sometimes legitimately, other times not so much. This probably won’t bother him too much.
