Lamar Jackson brushes aside possible change to deal with cold weather

The Baltimore Ravens’ trip to Buffalo for the AFC Divisional round may be a very cold one, but quarterback Lamar Jackson is turning down one big change that could help deal with the conditions.

Single-digit temperatures are in the forecast for Sunday’s game between the Ravens and Bills, presenting a new set of challenges for both teams. Jackson is aware of the issue, and he told reporters Wednesday that he would consult with the equipment staff about how to combat the cold. One thing he will not do, however, is wear gloves.

“I tried it in practice. I was horrible,” Jackson said. “I’ll leave that up to Teddy Two-Gloves, Teddy Bridgewater.

“I’m trying to win. It really don’t matter. I can’t go into a game and be like, ‘Man, it’s too cold, I can’t make things happen.’ Coach would probably send me home.”

Lamar Jackson scoffed at the suggestion of wearing gloves: "Naaaaahhhh. I tried it in practice. I was horrible. I'll leave that to Teddy Two Gloves." 😂pic.twitter.com/i4vx6lI3bY

Jackson has actually worn a glove in a game against Buffalo before, though it may not have been for weather-related reasons. To his point, he ditched it in the second half of that game and performed better without it.

The Bills are used to playing in difficult weather at this time of the year. One could argue it is part of their home field advantage. The Ravens will have to be ready for it.
