Lamar Jackson makes clear statement about his Week 9 status
Lamar Jackson’s practice status was the source of some concern Thursday, but the Baltimore Ravens quarterback sought to put those worries to rest a day later.
Jackson was back to work on Friday despite nursing multiple injuries. Addressing the media, he made it clear that he was never in danger of missing Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos, and that he was simply taking care of himself by sitting out two consecutive days of practice.
“That wasn’t in doubt. Just resting my body. It’s a long season,” Jackson said.

That certainly could have fooled some people, as Jackson’s practice status was a source of growing concern for Ravens fans. The team had said he was dealing with injuries to both his back and knee, which caused him to sit out Thursday’s practice.
Jackson has been posting MVP-caliber numbers for the Ravens this season, with 2,099 passing yards, 17 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions. He also has 501 rushing yards and a pair of scores on the ground.
