Leah Still poses for adorable photo with ESPY award
Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman Devon Still and his 5-year-old daughter Leah received the Jimmy V Perseverance Award at the ESPYs on Wednesday night. Leah, who is still undergoing cancer treatments, was unable to attend the ceremony.
But when her dad brought home the award, Leah seemed thrilled.
“This ESPY might have both of our names on it but this is Leah’s trophy!” Still wrote on Twitter Thursday night. “Like I said last night what I do is easy, she has the hard job. Like a true fighter she showed true perseverance throughout her battle with cancer and I couldn’t be any prouder. #leahstrong.”
If you missed Still’s speech, it’s very much worth watching:
A scan in March showed that Leah no longer had an active disease, but she later had some complications with her stem cell transplant. The entire sequence of events has been heartbreaking, but videos like this show us what an amazing fighter Leah is.
