LeSean McCoy urges Bills fans to be respectful of Kaepernick

LeSean McCoy is urging Bills fans to treat Colin Kaepernick respectfully ahead of the 49ers’ trip to Buffalo on Sunday.

McCoy shared his request for the fans while speaking with the media Wednesday.

“Be professional. Be respectful. You know right from wrong,” McCoy said via the Buffalo News.

“He’s a human being,” McCoy said of Kaepernick. “He’s a person. I think sometimes fans or people kind of get confused. They think these athletes or superstars aren’t human, but they are. He has feelings. He has a family.”

Though McCoy is asking fans to treat Kaepernick well despite the quarterback’s social views and agenda, the Bills running back has his own plans. McCoy revealed that he is planning to invite police officers to one of his future games as gesture of goodwill. His feeling is that the bad reputation they are receiving is the result of a few select incidents and therefore not representative of most police officers. He specifically says police are “getting a bad rap.”

McCoy’s plan to have officers at a future Bills game is notable, especially considering the running back got into a fight with two off-duty officers in February.
